Founded as Brockton's first Black business advocacy organization & social impact venture in 2020, the mission of Black Owned Brockton is to curate a cohesive, collaborative space where business and social connections can be made & sustained.​ What started as an Instagram page has become a movement; an avenue for creating purposeful and long-lasting engagement between Brockton's Black business, community, and excellence

Our goal is to make it easier for you to discover local Black-owned businesses, in addition to documenting the significance of Brockton's culture. We seek to lift up and preserve bountiful stories that are often erased & overlooked we encourage you to learn more about — celebrate Black creators, and participate in an inclusive, unified community.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR BUSINESS FEATURES?
Nothing — we don’t charge businesses a fee to be featured on Black-Owned Brockton. Our work is a labor of love for people, places,and products that we truly enjoy!
CAN YOU FEATURE MY POP-UP EVENT/CROWDSOURCING CAMPAIGN/SALE/GRAND OPENING?
We strive to make BOB a refreshing space on the internet and, accordingly, stay disciplined in our storytelling format. However, if you think yours is particularly intriguing, feel free to let us know about it.

HOW CAN I GET A BUSINESS FEATURED ON BLACK-OWNED BROCKTON'S SOCIAL MEDIA?
Feel free to tell us a little about the business. We’re happy to consider it!
While there’s no rigid set of criteria — we pick what we like — there are two basic requirements:

A business that we’ve experienced for ourselves. We vouch for everything we cover here.

A business with an interesting story: longstanding ties to Brockton, cultural significance, extraordinary products or services, an unusual origin story, exquisite presentation, and attention to detail, among other factors we find compelling.
